MANHATTAN (WABC) — A pedestrian was killed in an apparent hit and run on the border of the East Side just before 4:30 a.m. Wednesday.

The 69-year-old woman was struck by a vehicle on Second Avenue at East 57th Street.

She was taken to New York Presbyterian Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

The death is being investigated as a fatal hit and run by police.

Officers are looking for a black SUV, last seen traveling eastbound on East 57th Street.

Traffic on the Ed Koch Queensboro Bridge at 59th Street backed up as police blocked off the area near the crime scene.

The investigation is ongoing, and no arrests have been made.
