SHEEPSHEAD BAY, Brooklyn (PIX11) — A teen is accused of fatally shooting a 16-year-old boy in a Brookyn NYCHA complex on Monday, police said.

The suspect, also a 16-year-old boy, was arrested and charged Tuesday with manslaughter, criminally negligent homicide, and criminal possession of a weapon, according to the NYPD.

Kamardre Coleman, 16, was shot in the chest inside the Sheepshead Houses at 2597 Ave. X at around 5 p.m., police said.

Coleman was rushed to the hospital but could not be saved.

It was unclear what led up to the shooting.

There have been more than 1,100 crimes reported in NYCHA complexes citywide as of March 22, according to NYPD data. The crimes are not broken down by category.

There have been 142 shooting victims citywide, according to the stats.
