A Danbury man is accused of child endangerment after he lured a 14-year-old girl into his car Monday before she was able to get away, police in New York said.

The man was arrested around 11:30 a.m. Tuesday and identified as Gennaro Trainello, the Peekskill Police Department said in a news release. They did not provide Trainello’s age.

Trainello approached the teen and promised her paid work if she entered his car, police said. The teen got into Trainello’s car, but exited after a brief discussion, police said, and Trainello ended up driving away.

Police said Trainello also approached another 14-year-old girl on March 6, and tried to convince the girl he could give her paid work, but she did not accept his offer and notified a school resource officer of the incident, according to police.

An investigation into Trainello remains ongoing, police said.

Police ask anyone with information on Trainello or either incident to call the Detective Division at 914-737-8000 or email Detective Sgt. Farias at
