I love this time of year! We are stepping into warmer days with more sunshine in New York State. Spring has finally arrived and we are starting to see the return of our wild life friends and have heard the peepers.

Along with spring comes Easter which is one of my favorite holidays. I love the bright colors, cute decorations and most importantly, the candy!

What Easter Candy Do We Usually Find In New York State Stores?

There are so many Easter candies to choose from! My personal favorite is anything related to Reese’s, mmm! I also really enjoy the pastel candies from M&M’s and mini chocolate eggs that are popular during Easter.

Peeps are fun to add to Easter baskets and they now come in different flavors. Another candy I like is the Whoppers Robin Eggs, which are tasty! An Easter basket is not complete without some jelly beans and of course, Cadbury Creme Eggs as well.

Is This Really New York State’s Favorite Easter Candy?

On social media, I’ve noticed that conversations about favorite Easter candy. It’s interesting to see what different states choose from different candy options.

Recent data from DoorDash includes a list of Easter candy that was purchased before Easter in 2025. The Reese’s Pieces Easter Candy Gift Bag claimed the number one spot!

More recent data from DoorDash highlighted a map that showed what kind of Easter candy each state preferred before this holiday in 2025. For New York State, we like Reese’s peanut butter bunnies which happens to be one of my favorites!

Martha Stewart and Better Homes & Garden also shared the same information from DoorDash about the top Easter candy. Who would have thought that we would be learning from DoorDash about what kind of candy we prefer for Easter, haha.

Where Can We Get Easter Candy In The Hudson Valley?

In addition to getting our favorite Easter candy in chain stores, we can try some local ones as well. I love supporting Hudson Valley businesses and getting candy from them during holidays.

We can add goodies to our baskets this season after stopping at local shops such as Samuel’s Sweet Shop in Rhinebeck and Hudson Valley Chocolates in Wallkill. We can check out Krause’s Chocolates who have locations all throughout the Hudson Valley as well!

Happy spring and Happy Easter! Cheers to all of the wonderful things, moments and experiences that we have coming out this season.
