What punishment should a child rapist receive?

If you said “six months, time served,” you may have a future with the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office.

That’s exactly what Alvin Bragg’s crew offered a grotesque criminal — an illegal immigrant, no less — who committed that heinous crime.

In February of 2025, Nicol Alexandra Contreras-Suarez, a man who believes himself to be a woman, followed and raped a teenager in New York City.

The details are too sickening to think about.

Contreras-Suarez trailed a 14-year-old child into a bodega bathroom in East Harlem and raped the boy.

Nicol may identify as a woman, but it was Nicol the man who overpowered the teen.

The boy left the bathroom and flagged down passersby, who called the police.

Contreras-Suarez was charged with first-degree rape of a child as well as stalking.

Six months in jail for a crime like this is a sick joke.

Contreras-Suarez is every leftist policy come to life.

He came here from Colombia, illegally entering in 2023 with the massive influx of people let in by Joe Biden’s open border.

He headed straight for blue sanctuary cities and states that don’t follow federal immigration law.

He was arrested in Massachusetts for “armed robbery, prostitution, and assault with a dangerous weapon” — and according to the Department of Homeland Security, “Due to local sanctuary policies, this criminal illegal alien was then released to terrorize more Americans.”

As The Post reported, “Suarez was wanted in New Jersey and Massachusetts at the time, and US Immigration and Customs Enforcement had a detainer on her.”

At any point, Contreras-Suarez could have been stopped — but liberal policies regarding immigration and crime kept setting him free.

A New York teenager will now bear the burden of the vicious atrocity committed against him.

He’ll have lifelong trauma because an ideology that protects the victimizer and not the victim has become standard in Democratic jurisdictions.

Here’s the DA’s official explanation: “The resolution was reached in close consultation with the victim’s family, sparing the teenager from having to testify to both the grand jury and over several days at trial.”

But even then, a six-month deal is insane.

It’s no kindness to the victim for the accused to avoid justice.

How could the Manhattan DA’s office commit a travesty so severe unless it’s in the thrall of a broken ideology that supports this kind of action?

Lax criminal punishments are matched with low or nonexistent bail to produce a vicious repeat-offender cycle.

Just last week in Colorado, Boulder County Court Judge Eang Man, appointed by Democratic Gov. Jared Polis, released a meth dealer who had injured a cop, while resisting arrest, on just $100 bond.

A few days later, a drug-dealing thief with 98 arrests for robbery and shoplifting took Washington state police on a wild chase through multiple counties.

He was finally arrested after topping 100 mph through the streets. Here’s hoping the 99th arrest sticks — but no one should hold their breath.

Democrats are so beholden to their far-left flank that an illegal immigrant trans criminal being set free again and again won’t ring any alarm bells in their party.

But the rest of us should understand that these criminals, released back out onto our streets after each offense, can easily travel to idyllic red states that take the punishment of criminals seriously.

The problem with this leftist ideology is that the repercussions are rarely contained to its supporters.

We all suffer from the Democrats’ bad ideas — but some, like one traumatized NYC teenager, more than most.
