Atlantic Beach, NY (March 25, 2026) – A bicyclist lost his life after a hit-and-run crash Tuesday morning, March 24, in Atlantic Beach. The incident occurred around 7:46 a.m. along Beach Street near the intersection with Scott Drive.

Nassau County Police authorities reported that a vehicle traveling eastbound on Beach Street struck the cyclist near the intersection. Emergency units responded quickly after the crash was reported.

Responders pronounced the bicyclist dead at the scene. Officials have not released the identity of the victim at this time.

Police said the driver left the scene after the accident. Investigators later identified the vehicle involved as a Honda HR-V driven by a 67-year-old woman from Long Beach.

Following an investigation conducted with local police departments, officers arrested the driver without incident. Authorities charged her with leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death.

Officials stated that no other injuries were reported in connection with the crash. Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision.
