Step into a dazzling illumination as Lightscape returns to Brooklyn Botanic Garden from Nov. 21–Jan. 4, with new light art, food and holiday fun.

Brooklyn Botanic Garden is bringing back its illuminated winter trail, Lightscape, for a fifth season from Nov. 21, 2025, through Jan. 4, 2026.

The popular event transforms the garden into a glowing wonderland, with over a dozen new installations alongside returning favorites. This year’s edition draws inspiration from the garden’s plants and wildlife, reimagining the trail as an enchanted forest.

Nineteen large-scale light installations will line the one-mile path, accompanied by curated soundscapes and food and drink experiences.

Visitors can also expect Bluebonnets by Mandylights, a field of 3,000 illuminated flowers near Oak Circle and Firefly Field by Studio Toer, with 400 moving fireflies brightening Osborne Garden.

Popular returning works include Winter Cathedral by Mandylights, a refreshed Sea of Light by ITHACA Studio and a new fountain display in the Japanese Hill-and-Pond Garden.

“Lightscape has become one of New York City’s most cherished winter traditions, and BBG is excited to keep reinventing the experience—with even more captivating moments and community spaces this year,” said Adrian Benepe, president and chief executive officer of Brooklyn Botanic Garden. “For our fifth year, we are inviting guests to enter the enchantment of a winter wonderland, populated by magical forest creatures and their habitats.”

Guests can also enjoy seasonal menus, cocktails and desserts at Lightscape Lodge and Bar, with sit-down dining at Yellow Magnolia Café. Pop-up stands along the trail will also offer hot drinks and handheld bites.
