A lasting tribute to one of the most influential figures in comic book history is coming to life in New York City, as a block in Manhattan’s Lower East Side is officially being co-named “Jack Kirby Way.” The designation celebrates the extraordinary legacy of Jack Kirby, whose groundbreaking work helped define the modern superhero genre and continues to inspire generations of fans and creators worldwide.
The newly designated stretch of Essex Street, between Delancey and Rivington Streets, holds deep personal significance as it sits near Kirby’s birthplace and the neighborhood that shaped his creative voice.
