According to the ED, the investigation has revealed that Garg diverted proceeds of crime through multiple foreign subsidiaries and offshore entities of RCom, including the purchase of a luxury condominium apartment in Manhattan, New York. The ED alleges that this property was later sold during RCom’s corporate insolvency resolution process, with the $8.3 million in sale proceeds remitted to a Dubai-based entity controlled by a Pakistan-linked individual, without the knowledge or consent of the Resolution Professional. The ED also claims that part of the proceeds of crime were used to cover Garg’s personal expenses, including overseas education payments for his children.
