History

The Lindenwood lacrosse team (4-8, 1-3 ASUN) fell to Queens (2-9, 2-2 ASUN) by a score of 13-9 on Saturday in Charlotte, N.C.

GAME OVERVIEW

Lindenwood got off to a fast start and took a 3-0 lead less than five minutes into the game. Tatum Bryant netted the first goal on a free-position attempt, followed by goals from Claire Blue assisted by Bryant and Elise Fawcett off a feed from Alissa DiGiacinto. Queens scored the next two before the end of the quarter and the Lions led 3-2 after one.

The Black and Gold converted on a man-up opportunity to begin the second as DiGiacinto found Charlize Vang in front of the net who put Lindenwood up 4-2. DiGiacinto added onto the lead, assisted by Selander. A few minutes later, Selander got her first goal of the day, putting the Lions ahead 6-2 at the 10:09 mark of the second. Reese Krieger grew the advantage to five before Queens netted one to make it 7-3, which would be the score at the half.

Queens scored the first five goals of the third quarter to take an 8-7 lead. Brynn Delaney put an end to the run after winning a draw control, she went coast-to-coast for a score. The Royals quickly answered back to regain the lead. Taylor Coughlin made a couple of big saves to keep the Lions within one heading to the fourth.

The seesaw battle continued to begin the fourth. Each team traded goals with the Lindenwood score coming off the stick of DiGiacinto. Queens gained some separation and went up 13-9 with 4:51 to play. Lindenwood was unable to draw any closer and fell by that score on Saturday.
