“We were here, I think it would have been seven hours ahead of time, but as soon as we got in our Uber, we got a text saying our flight had been delayed,” said Juli Watkins. “Then, we got another one saying it had been delayed even further and offered us rebooking options.”

“We’re on the phone with our company trying to get them to reschedule our flight,” said Harley Perez, after discovering that his flight had been canceled Friday.

Lawmakers are now leaving town for a two-week recess, likely extending the standoff into mid-April.

“So we rebooked for one that leaves at 4:55 today,” Watkins said.

“We’re actually going to get home a little bit earlier, assuming we can get through TSA quickly,” said Watkins’ traveling companion, Lynn Zimmerman.

“We’ve been watching,” Zimmerman said when asked if she saw the long lines inside the airport. “Last time we saw it was about a two-hour wait.”
