New York State Police have a man in custody after an apparent homicide in Rouses Point.Police were called to the Anchorage Motel just before 2 a.m. on Saturday and found 57-year-old Tyrone Biggs dead in his apartment with apparent stab wounds. Thirty-one-year-old Austin Lapier was taken into custody. Police believe Lapier killed Biggs sometime the prior evening. Biggs’ body was taken to Glens Falls, where an autopsy is scheduled for Sunday. Lapier has been charged with second-degree murder and criminal possession of a weapon. He is being held without bail. Lapier will appear before a judge on Thursday. According to Clinton County District Attorney Andrew Wiley, Lapier and Biggs were neighbors at the motel. The investigation is ongoing.
