The New York State Police in Auburn report the arrest of Gregory S. Gorman, age 30, of Moravia, NY, following a joint investigation with the New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision (DOCCS) Office of Special Investigations (OSI).

On the morning of March 27, 2026, the SP Auburn Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) was contacted by DOCCS OSI regarding an ongoing investigation into Gorman, a correction officer employed at Cayuga Correctional Facility.

As part of the investigation, OSI conducted a staff screening when Gorman reported for duty at approximately 6:54 a.m. A trained narcotics detection canine alerted to the presence of drugs on Gorman’s person. A subsequent search conducted by OSI investigators revealed that Gorman was in possession of:

Cocaine, with an aggregate weight of approximately 28.2 gramsHeroin, packaged in approximately 50 paper sleeves, with an aggregate weight of approximately 10.3 grams

Further investigation included a consent search of Gorman’s vehicle, where an additional quantity of cocaine, approximately 0.4 grams, was located.

Gorman was turned over to the New York State Police and transported to SP Auburn for processing.

Gorman was charged with:

Two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd degree (B felony)Three counts of Promoting Prison Contraband 1st degree (D felony)Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 5th degree (D felony)Official Misconduct (E felony)Promoting Prison Contraband 2nd degree (A misdemeanor)

Gorman was processed and transported to the Cayuga County Jail, where he is being held pending centralized arraignment.
