BROOKLYN, N.Y. (PIX11) – A man allegedly spread feces and pieces of a Quran outside a mosque in Brooklyn, sources told PIX11 News.
The NYPD is investigating the incident as a hate crime. It happened on March 9 around 4:30 a.m. on State Street.

The man, who has not yet been caught, first threw pieces of a Quran on the front step, then returned and smeared the feces on the door, sources said.
Police are circulating images of the man they believe is responsible for the crime.
New York Attorney General Letitia James called it a “blatant act of Islamophobia.”
“Acts of hate and violence against any of our communities will not be tolerated in our city or state,” James said.
