Because after Punxsutawney Phil’s prediction for six extra-long weeks of winter came true, we certainly deserve even more fun in the sun this summer.
And we’re not the only ones counting down to summer. Dairy Queen is ready to trade in its limited-edition winter Mint Oreo Blizzard and Choco-Dipped Strawberry Blizzard for treats that remind us of warmer months. On March 30, DQ is launching a new Countdown to Summer Collection with two returning Blizzards and one brand-new dessert.
Dairy Queen Launches New Countdown to Summer Blizzard Collection

DQ’s new Blizzard trio collection features the returning S’mores Blizzard Treat and Cotton Candy Blizzard Treat. You might recall that fans voted for Dairy Queen to bring back the S’mores Blizzard last year, which we’re sure CEO Troy Bader was happy to do since the S’mores Blizzard is one of his favorites.
Now, the S’mores Blizzard is back and once again bringing its marshmallow-filled chocolate bar and graham crackers to the soft serve dessert.
At this point, you can’t have the DQ summer menu without the pink Cotton Candy Blizzard. This longtime favorite features cotton candy sprinkles blended into vanilla soft serve.
For those looking to try something new, Dairy Queen is debuting its Strawberry Angel Food Cake Blizzard Treat. The new dessert features real pieces of angel food cake and strawberries blended into DQ’s vanilla soft serve, all topped with whipped cream. The new Blizzard offers a sweet mix of fluffy, airy angel food cake and tart, juicy strawberries—and DQ fans say it “looks so delicious.”
“I can’t wait to try it,” one user commented on food creator @markie_devo’s Instagram post.
“Wish cotton candy was year-round,” another chimed in about the returning flavor.
“DQ literally only sees me when the S’mores Blizzard is around,” commented another.
The three new treats will be available at DQ restaurants nationwide for a limited time—and you can get your first Countdown to Summer Blizzard for just 99 cents. That’s right, DQ is continuing its partnership with the Savannah Bananas, which it launched in February, for a new “Double Flip” deal. From March 30 through April 26, when you order one Blizzard via the DQ app, you can get a second Blizzard for 99 cents.
It’s possible these new treats might be joined by a few more summery Blizzards later this season, but for now, the countdown to Memorial Day weekend is officially on!
