Brayden Schenn finished with a goal and two assists as New York overwhelmed the visiting Florida Panthers with a five-goal second period on the way to a 5-2 victory on Saturday after trailing 2-0. Schenn’s goal tied the game at the 12:09 mark before Simon Holmstrom converted on the power play at 14:52 to give the Islanders the lead for good. Marc Gatcomb, Emil Heineman and Casey Cizikas also lit the lamp in the win, with Gatcomb adding an assist.

With veteran stars Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin sitting out, the Penguins dropped a 6-3 decision to the visiting Dallas Stars on Saturday. Crosby’s 28 goals and 64 points top the Penguins, with Mantha checking in with 27 goals. Arturs Silovs comes in at 16-10-8 with two shutouts along with an .890 save percentage and 2.98 GAA.
