Brooklyn detectives are on the hunt for the suspect who shot a man dead in broad daylight on Monday morning.
Authorities said the victim, a 40-year-old man, was gunned down in front of a home at 410 Wortman Ave., off Ashford Street, in East New York at about 9:10 a.m. on March 30.
Officers from the 75th Precinct responded to the location after receiving a 911 call about the shooting. When they arrived, cops said, they found the victim shot in the torso and right leg.
The motive for the shooting remains unknown and under investigation, police sources said.Â

EMS rushed the victim to Brookdale University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Police have not yet released the victim’s identity, pending family notification.
So far, no arrests have been made in the ongoing investigation. Detectives are now searching for a person of interest in the shooting, described as a man wearing a ski mask, a blue hooded sweatshirt, gray jeans and multi-colored sneakers, who was spotted fleeing after the incident.

Through March 22, the 75th Precinct reported nine shootings and 11 victims year-to-date, up from the eight shootings and 10 victims reported at the same point in 2025.
