The male Panther of the Week is going to Bryce Riggs from the baseball team.
The junior right-handed pitcher from Cicero, Indiana, took a no-hitter into the ninth inning in Eastern’s 7-2 win over Morehead State on Saturday.
Riggs finished as the winning pitcher with eight and one-third innings pitched and surrendered two hits and two earned runs while striking out eight hitters.
Prior to the start of the ninth inning, Riggs had only allowed one Eagle to reach base on an error in the second inning.
Eastern won two of its three games this past weekend against Morehead State and is 15-10 overall and 5-1 in Ohio Valley Conference play. The Panthers currently sit in second place in the league.
