SACKETS HARBOR, New York (WWNY) – A Sackets Harbor business owner has told U.S. border czar Tom Homan that Homan will have to find a new place to dock his boat.
Alex Morgia owns a marina and hotels in Sackets.
Morgia confirmed that 3 weeks ago, he told Homan he’s not renewing his boat slip this season and that he’s not hosting Homan’s security detail at his hotels going forward.
“I’m not comfortable having my businesses associated with the direction federal enforcement has taken. I have employees, guests, and community members from a lot of different backgrounds, and their comfort matters to me. It was a personal and business decision, and it’s mine to make,” said Morgia in a prepared statement.
Morgia owns several properties in Sackets, including the Barracks Inn and the Harbor House Inn.
He’s also the village’s mayor and a Democrat.
Homan is a West Carthage native who frequently visits Sackets Harbor.
