Weekend Arts Festival Features Local Artists, Fashion Show, and a Creative Tribute to America’s 250th Anniversary

YONKERS, NY– April 1, 2026 – Yonkers Mayor Mike Spano today announced the City of Yonkers is celebrating the 12th annual Yonkers Arts Weekend (YAW) festival Friday, May 15 through Sunday, May 17. The weekend festival features exciting new programs, including a fashion show at Untermyer Gardens, workshops, exhibitions, and more.

“Our City becomes more than a destination, it becomes a living, evolving canvas,” said Mayor Mike Spano. “As we celebrate America’s 250th anniversary, Yonkers Arts Weekend showcases that spirit through the work of our talented local and emerging artists who continue to push boundaries and inspire. I’m proud to support the artists who keep our cultural identity strong and vibrant all year long.”

This year, YAW will deliver a comprehensive range of pop-up exhibitions, free art workshops, and musical performances across four dynamic venues, including: 

Untermyer Park & Gardens will serve as the catwalk for this year’s Fashion Show, with couture designs by Project Runway season six winner, Irina Shabayeva. The free showcase will also feature budding designers from Westchester Community College on Saturday, May 16. (Rain location, The Mills, 222 Lake Avenue)

914 Collective will be joining YAW for the first time, offering a Main Street Music Walk, a coordinated series of live music performances across several venues on Main Street. It will also feature New York’s Biggest Bacon, Egg, and Cheese on Sunday, May 17.

The Hudson River Museum will offer free admission and feature open galleries, bubble extravaganza, planetarium shows, and guided tours of the Gilded Age Glenview Mansion on Sunday, May 17.

Blue Door Art Center will recognize America’s 250th Birthday, featuring a “Red, White, Blue and You” exhibit on Saturday, May 16, and Sunday, May 17.

Yonkers Arts Weekend is sponsored by the Yonkers Community Development Agency, produced by the City of Yonkers in partnership with Yonkers Arts, Yonkers Downtown Business Improvement District, and Thompson & Bender.
