During King Charles III and Queen Camilla’s upcoming state visit in the United States, the royal couple may see some familiar faces.
After Buckingham Palace announced that the king, 77, and queen, 78, have been invited to the White House by President Donald Trump, a Wednesday, April 1, report in journalist Rob Shuter’s Naughty But Nice Substack claimed the royals are considering stopping in New York City during their travels.
A source claimed to Shuter that Charles and Prince Harry — who lives in California with his wife, Meghan Markle, and their two children — are “working on the logistics” of a meetup in NYC that would be “completely private and off the official schedule.”
“He wants to bring the children,” the source said of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s children, Prince Archie, 6, and Princess Lilibet, 4. “This isn’t just about him — it’s about reconnecting as a family.”
Because Harry, 41, and Meghan, 44, live in California, and Charles and Camilla will primarily be in Washington, D.C., during their time in America, the distance “complicates everything,” the source said.

Therefore, New York City is “neutral ground,” the source added. “And easier to keep under the radar.”
Because the Spare author’s relationship with the royal family has been strained since he stepped down from his senior royal duties and moved to the U.S., the Naughty But Nice report indicated that the reunion could be much needed.
“There’s still a lot to heal,” a source told Shuter. “But there’s also a real desire to move forward.”
Bringing Archie and Lilibet to see their grandparents “could change everything,” the source said, adding that it makes the potential meeting “emotional — not just diplomatic.”
“This isn’t about headlines,” the insider claimed. “It’s about family — and a chance to start again.”
A source previously told Examiner that Charles has been hoping to see Harry and Meghan’s children in the near future.
“He cherishes the relationship he has with [Prince William’s kids],” the insider told Examiner. “But it’s bittersweet because he doesn’t know Harry’s two at all.”
