Gov. Kathy Hochul wants to make another $1.7 billion investment in child care in this year’s budget. When added to her previous proposals, that would be a total of $4.5 billion for Fiscal Year 2027 for child care.
According to the administration, that money will deliver affordable child care to nearly 100,000 more New York children.
