There was nothing but good vibes last Thursday as a nonprofit that provides food prep help for people with a chronic disorder, and their caregivers, received $500.

About 25 people came as Shakhawat Hossain, top left, the store manager of Raymour & Flanigan furniture store in Jamaica, presented a check to Jessica Bryan, top center, of Feed Life. The charity helps people with dysphagia, a condition that makes it hard for people to swallow food, by demonstrating how to make food that is easy to consume.

Ree Brinn, second from left at top, was the creative director of the event. Patricia Bryan-Rodgers, second from right, Bryan’s sister and the nonprofit’s vice president, was in attendance, along with the furniture store’s sales manager, Sam Arefin.

The event also shone a light on Southeast Queens businesses. Tina Uddin, assistant general manager of Crunch Fitness Rochdale Village, above left, and Capryse Del Moral, above right, general manager of the Richmond Hill branch, were there, along with Angie Archer, above second from left, of Attainable Joy, a custom gift business, and her friend Claudia Nicotra.

Brinn gave special thanks to Crunch Fitness, which gave away stress balls and drawstring backpacks, and the American Cancer Society, which gave away candies and pink and red pens
