QUEENS, NY — A 16-year-old boy was shot and injured on a Queens street Wednesday night, police said.

The incident happened near 133 Beach 56th Street around 8:24 p.m.

Officers found the boy with a gunshot wound to the chest. He was taken to a local hospital in stable condition.

The suspect fled the scene after the shooting.

A description of a possible shooter was not readily available.

No arrests have been made yet.

An investigation remains ongoing.
