New York City Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch identified 21-year-old Amari Green as the suspect in the fatal shooting of a 7-month-old baby in Brooklyn on Wednesday.
Tisch said at a press conference that Green was “the trigger puller.” Green is currently being treated at a hospital, and he will be arrested and charged with murder and two counts of attempted murder, Tisch said.
Police identified the child as Kaori Patterson-Moore of Clinton Hill, a neighborhood about 2 miles from where she was killed on a sidewalk.
The infant was shot in a stroller at about 1:20 p.m. on Wednesday, when a man on a moped fired at a group of adults and children in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, police said.
Tisch said the scooter driver has also been identified, but she will not release his name at this time.

The announcement came at a public safety press conference discussing crime statistics in the city.
“Today, we are talking about stats, but this incident is a reminder that these numbers represent lives, and as proud as we are of our officers’ work to drive down crime, especially gun violence, moments like this deepen our resolve to do everything that we can to stop this from happening again,” Tisch said.
