Potential lowering of retirement age for some workers
What we know:
The New York Post is reporting that Gov. Kathy Hochul is considering lowering the retirement age of certain New York workers to 55-years-old.
Workers under consideration would only be public workers that were hired after 2014.
If Hochul decides to pursue the change, the move could cost taxpayers $1.5 billion.
