WILLIAMSBURG, Brooklyn (PIX11) — The hunt continues for the second person involved in the shooting death of a 7-month-old baby girl in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.

On Thursday night, the Reverend Kevin McCall and other community leaders marched through the Bushwick Houses and handed out flyers featuring a surveillance photo of the moped’s driver.

Police say 21-year-old Amuri Greene was on the back of the moped when he opened fire around 1:20 p.m. Wednesday on Moore and Humboldt Streets.

Greene was still in the hospital on Thursday but is expected to be arrested and charged with murder and two counts of attempted murder, according to NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch.

Greene has no arrest history, but authorities said he has a gang affiliation out of the Marcy Houses. Investigators are looking at a possible beef between the Marcy Houses gang and the MOE (Money Over Everything) gang out of the Bushwick Houses, according to NYPD Chief of Detectives Joseph Kenny.

Police are also probing if the baby’s father was the intended target since he appears to have a connection to the MOE gang, Kenny said.

“We’re still looking into that. We do know he has an association with some other MOE gang members. He’s not in our criminal group database as MOE gang member, but based on where he was at that time, we’re looking into that,” the chief said.

Greene and his accomplice rode up on a moped when Greene pulled out a gun and allegedly fired multiple shots, hitting Patterson-Moore, police said.

The mother was pushing the baby in a stroller and ran to a nearby bodega to escape the gunfire, police said. Once inside, she saw the girl was bleeding, sources said.

“The dad was screaming, ‘Save my baby,’ and the mother was screaming at the top of her lungs,” a witness told PIX11 News.

The baby girl was taken to a hospital by private transport and was pronounced dead.

The suspects fled on the moped, heading north on Humboldt, and crashed into a car a few blocks away, according to the NYPD. Both were ejected, and Greene was injured in the collision and taken to the hospital for treatment, police said.

The moped driver has been identified but remained on the loose as of Thursday, Tisch said.

“My heart aches for the parents impacted by this tragedy and all those across New York City who have reckoned with such unthinkable pain,” Mayor Zohran Mamdani said Thursday.

Before the shooting, video from near the scene showed two males on a moped driving out of the Bushwick Houses NYCHA complex, heading north on Humboldt Street against traffic, according to Tisch.

The moped was recovered five blocks west of the shooting. The driver was last seen fleeing toward the Marcy Houses NYCHA complex.

The NYC clergy, the Brooklyn Collective Clergy Council, and the United Clergy Council are coming together to host a community vigil on Saturday, April 4th at 12:00 PM. This gathering will be a time to pray, reflect, and support one another as we mourn this devastating loss.
