Dolores Lessner, 95, a lifelong resident of the Bronx, passed away Feb. 22 at Calvary Hospital in the Bronx. She was born May 31, 1930 to the late Ida and Jacob “Jack” Isaacson. She was predeceased by Marvin Lessner, her husband of more than 60 years.
Dolores was a graduate of Hunter College. She was a schoolteacher for many years — first in New Jersey and then in the New York City school system at P.S. 152 in Manhattan. She taught many generations of second and fifth grade students before specializing as a reading teacher. Toward the end of her career, she trained other teachers. After retirement, she and Marvin enjoyed educational travel and swimming at the local pool.
She is survived by her son Philip Lessner and his wife Susan of Newberry, SC, and her brother Stephen Isaacson and his wife Dominique of Paris, France.
