Rochester, N.Y. (WHAM) — Since 1946, Stever’s Candies on Park Avenue has played a role in Easter celebrations for many families, and this year is no different.

“We produce candy months in advance getting ready for this,” said manager Kevin Brocht. “This is our busiest season.”

One particular item is a best-seller.

“People come in just for the bacon and eggs,” Brocht said. “It’s a special thing they put on the Easter breakfast table.”

Many people have become loyal customers over the years.

“I come here every year, Christmas time, Easter time,” said Amy Gardner of Gates. “We’ve been coming here for years.”

“This is a family tradition. I’ve been coming my whole life,” said Shauna Wright of Spencerport. “My grandparents have come here since we were little, and I just had to carry on the tradition for my kids.”

Wright said she will continue to carry on the tradition from her childhood.

“The bacon and eggs were a must-have,” she said. “It was the first thing, we’d run into my grandma’s house — ‘Where’s the bacon and eggs?!’ And now I have to continue to do that because it’s just so magical.”

You won’t find anything but quality sweets behind the counter.

“It’s actually our own special blend of chocolate, so you can’t get it anywhere else,” Brocht said. “The highest quality — we’re all about quality, not quantity. There’s other places that are mass produced. We’re still family-owned.”
