BEDFORD COUNTY, Va. (WSET) — Jefferson Forest High School students recently traded Lynchburg for the bright lights of New York City.

The Jefferson Forest Wind Symphony was invited to perform at Carnegie Hall on April 2 as part of the New York Invitational Music Festival.

The group earned a score of 94.5 points, receiving a gold award, the highest honor of the competition.

After nearly three months of intense practice, the group said the once-in-a-lifetime trip was unforgettable.
