Pete DeBoer has officially landed a new NHL head coaching gig.
DeBoer served as Stars head coach from 2022-25, leading the team to a 149-68-29 mark. He also guided Dallas to the Western Conference finals in each of his three seasons at the helm. The Stars announced that they were parting ways with DeBoer in June 2025 after they fell short of their Stanley Cup goal.
Shortly after his Stars stint ended, DeBoer was added to the Canadian men’s hockey team’s coaching staff as an assistant. He held that role through the squad’s 2026 Olympic run. DeBoer has posted a 662-447-152 record throughout his head coaching career, which also includes stops with the Vegas Golden Knights, San Jose Sharks, New Jersey Devils and Florida Panthers.
