Police are questioning a person of interest on Easter Sunday evening after two men were shot on a Brooklyn Street and were left fighting for their lives.

Police in Brooklyn are questioning a person of interest after two men were shot and left fighting for their lives on Easter Sunday evening.

According to authorities, the gunfire erupted just before 6 p.m. on April 5 outside of a deli located at 2961 Fulton St. in Cypress Hills. Cops say a 30-year-old man and a 50-year-old man were shot multiple times throughout the body.

Both victims were rushed to Brookdale Hospital, where they were listed in critical condition.

NYPD sources say a 24-year-old man was taken into custody, and a firearm was recovered. A motive for the shooting has yet to be established.

Officers from the 75th Precinct immediately established a crime scene and could be seen investigating near a large number of shell casings. 

The investigation remains ongoing.
