ELMONT, NY — The search is on for a 56-year-old woman Monday after police said she was last seen leaving her Elmont Road residence on foot Sunday.
Nassau County police said 56-year-old Janina Brooks was last seen at 12 p.m. Sunday in Elmont, and was leaving her residence at Mercy Medical Center. Police described Brooks as a dark-complexioned woman standing 5-feet, 7-inches, weighing about 300 lbs. Police said she has brown eyes and a long blue wig, and that she was last seen wearing a white jacket and dark pants. Her possible destination, police said, is unknown.
