The NYPD is asking the public’s assistance in identifying who is the perpetrator of an aggravated harassment incident committed at St. Anastasia’s Roman Catholic Church in Douglaston on March 14.

Police said an unidentified man entered the church, located at 45-50 245 St., and poured a drink into the baptismal font. He then took an undisclosed amount of money from the donation box and removed a cloth from the altar.

He fled on foot. There were no injuries reported, and the case is being investigated by the NYPD’s Hate Crime Task Force.

 The man was last seen wearing a blue hat, light-colored hooded sweatshirt, black jacket, dark colored pants and dark-colored sneakers and was carrying a bookbag.
