(MONTCLAIR, NJ) — Latinos of Montclair presents trailblazing media executive, former New York Secretary of State, and author Rossana Rosado in Montclair on Thursday, April 30, 2026 at 6:30pm as part of VOCES to discuss her new memoir, Bronx Attitude. Moderated by labor organizer and political leader Dr. Patricia Campos-Medina.

VOCES, created by Latinos of Montclair, is a Latino thought leaders series dedicated to creating an open space to uplift the voices and perspectives of Latino/e authors, artists, elected officials, community advocates, business leaders, and culture makers. Each gathering is designed to create space to reflect on Latinidad at this moment — its complexities, its beauty, and its future.

The event will take place at The Hub and is expected to draw an audience from across New Jersey of community members, students, and literature enthusiasts.

Tickets are available for purchase online. The Hub is located at 60 S Fullerton Avenue in Montclair, New Jersey from 6:30pm to 8:00pm.

Rosado’s career is a testament to the power of perseverance, identity, and community. Born and raised in a Puerto Rican family in the Bronx, she rose to become the first woman to serve as Publisher and CEO of El Diario La Prensa, the nation’s second-largest Spanish-language newspaper — a role she held for 18 years.

Her distinguished career in media earned her both an Emmy Award and a Peabody Award for Journalism. In 2016, she was appointed New York Secretary of State by Governor Andrew Cuomo, and she currently serves as Commissioner of the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services under Governor Kathy Hochul.

In her new memoir, Bronx Attitude, Rosado delivers a raw and fearless exploration of how identity is shaped within the quiet, complicated bonds of family. From culture shock in college to her rise as a young reporter covering city hall during the Koch administration, to the role of publisher and CEO, and ultimately to the highest levels of state government, her story is one of resilience, ambition, and deep pride in her roots.

At this special VOCES event, Rosado will share her remarkable journey in a candid fireside conversation followed by an audience Q&A and book signing.

Latinos of Montclair is a New Jersey-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to fostering community, celebrating culture, and amplifying the diverse voices of the Latino community through arts, education, and civic engagement.
