Kansas State men’s basketball has its first returning piece of the offseason.
In a social media announcement on Monday, K-State freshman wing Andrej Kostic stated plans to remain in Manhattan and continue his career under new head coach Casey Alexander.
A high-profile international prospect, Kostic showed flashes in his debut season despite injuries and limited playing time.
The 6-foot-6 wing averaged 5.2 points while shooting 37.5% from 3-point range. Prior to arriving in Manhattan, Kostic starred for Serbia’s U18 and U19 national teams and averaged 16.4 points in Serbia’s top professional league.
Kostic becomes the first player from the Jerome Tang era to publicly announce his return under Alexander, who had 3-point shooting as one of his keys to success at Belmont.
His return marks Alexander’s first addition from the current roster, joining two high school commits (Jaylen Alexander and Devin Hutcherson) as the Wildcats begin shaping the future.
The revenue share budget for the men’s basketball team will be roughly $3.8 million, which is around 18% of K-State’s total of $21.3 million for the 2026-27 athletic year.
K-State has lost five players to the portal in P.J. Haggerty, Abdi Bashir Jr., Stephen Osei, David Castillo and Exavier Wilson.
More movement is expected in the coming days after the men’s basketball transfer portal officially opens on April 7 and closes on April 21, lasting 15 days.
