On Sunday, April 26, 2026, five generous Pelham homeowners will open their doors to the public for the biennial Pelham House & History Tour, a cherished community fundraiser supporting Pelham students and local initiatives.
Founded in 1994 as a fundraiser for the Pelham Memorial High School (PMHS) PTA, the Pelham House & History Tour has grown into a longstanding community tradition. In 2019, the Junior League of Pelham (JLP) partnered with the PMHS PTA to continue the event, celebrating both the town’s beautiful homes and its rich history.
“The JLP is proud to partner once again with the PMHS PTA for this beloved Pelham tradition,” said Ali Cheyne-Cavallaro, President of the Junior League of Pelham. “The tour not only highlights the beauty and history of our town, but also raises essential funds that support meaningful community initiatives in Pelham and beyond. The generosity of the homeowners who graciously open their doors year after year is a testament to the extraordinary spirit of this community.”
This year’s tour will showcase five homes across the Pelhams, ranging from a century-old Edwardian residence in Pelham Heights to a transformative renovation in Chester Park. Each home features distinct architecture and interior design, highlighting neighborhoods in the Village of Pelham and Pelham Manor. Historical points of interest will also be featured as the community commemorates the 250th anniversary of America’s Declaration of Independence and the Battle of Pelham.
“The PMHS PTA is honored to keep the 32-year tradition of the House & History Tour alive,” said David Sparano, PMHS PTA President. “This event is not only a critical fundraiser that sustains teacher support and enhances the student experience over the next two years, but also a celebration of both our town’s character and our students’ incredible talents. We’re thrilled to partner again with the JLP to showcase original artwork by our high school art students and live performances from student musicians throughout these beautiful homes. It’s a community-wide effort for a great cause, and we can’t wait to see everyone there.”
Funds generated by the House & History Tour are vital to the PMHS PTA, serving as its primary financial resource to support field trips, host assemblies, support award ceremonies, provide scholarships, and expand extracurricular activities. Proceeds also fund JLP initiatives, including Ending Hunger, Professional Prep, Sustainability and playground improvement projects.
