NEW YORK CITY —A man was stabbed multiples times outside a New York City grocery store Tuesday morning, police said.

The incident happened in front of 17 Catherine St. in Chinatown around 9:25 a.m.

The location is listed as Wai Wah Market.

According to police, a 49-year-old man suffered stab wounds in the back and arm.

It is not known what led up to the stabbing, but police believe the victim may have gotten into a fight with an unidentified suspect.

The injured man was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

No arrests have been made yet. A description of a possible suspect has not been released.

An investigation remains ongoing.
