New York Secretary of State Visits Utica

UTICA, N.Y. — New York Secretary of State Walter Mosley visited Utica to discuss economic development and the State budget.

Mosley spent the previous day in Rome, where he helped announce Downtown Revitalization Initiative funding.

On Thursday morning, Mosley, who also serves as chair of the Regional Economic Development Council, attended the Mohawk Valley Regional Economic Development Council’s 2026 kick-off public meeting at The Center on Bleecker Street in Utica.

Mosley is promoting the governor’s version of the budget, which has not yet been passed.

He explained that one of the main challenges in passing the budget is the push to include legislation that would lower car insurance rates across the State of New York.

The budget was due April 1 but is now nine days late.
