If your ideal night out includes both a perfectly balanced cocktail and a slightly surreal fever dream, Hendrick’s has you covered. The famously eccentric booze brand is bringing a full-blown immersive theater experience to the West Village this month—and naturally, there will be gin. A lot of gin.
Called “Hendrick’s Anotherland,” the two-night-only activation lands on Hudson Street on April 17 and 18, turning a townhouse space into a winding, otherworldly playground of performance, cocktails and general oddity. It’s all meant to celebrate Another Hendrick’s, the brand’s first permanent new expression in nearly a decade.
The experience was developed by Dr. Ilana Gilovich, former chief storyteller at Emursive Productions, the team behind Sleep No More, the long-running spectacle that made wandering through a building into an art form. The setup for Anotherland embraces the same sense of curiosity and controlled chaos, inviting guests to move through a series of rooms filled with “mischievous performances” and unexpected encounters.

According to the brand, you’ll encounter apothecaries, “otherworldly strangers” and assorted guides who lead you through the experience, offering tastings and cocktails along the way. It’s less of a sit-down tasting and more like a theatrical scavenger hunt, with drinks in hand.
The drinks themselves are built around Another Hendrick’s, a new riff on the brand’s signature rose-and-cucumber base, which includes both orange blossom and cacao for something a little brighter and richer than the original.
This New York debut is part of a larger national rollout, with similarly “beyond-the-ordinary” experiences slated for Los Angeles, Chicago and Miami in May. But the NYC edition feels especially on-brand thanks to the slightly hidden location, a touch of downtown theatrical legacy and a format that rewards people willing to lean into the weird.
Tickets haven’t dropped just yet—they will be released via Hendrick’s social channels and RSVP site—but there are a couple of catches. For one, you’ll need to be 25 or older to get in. And for another, given the scale (and the Sleep No More adjacency), expect them to go quickly.
If you’ve ever wanted to sip gin while being gently guided through a dreamlike maze by a cast of mysterious characters, your moment has arrived.
