Queen Maxima of the Netherlands turned to her archival wardrobe for her outing at the Jubilee Night to mark the 200th anniversary of the Royal Conservatoire The Hague earlier this week.
For her evening attire, the 54-year-old chose a navy dress that fell just below her knee from Natan Couture, one of her go-to designers. Features of the fitted dress included a feathered hem and metallic stripes that highlighted her waist, which she leaned into with her matching gold heels.
The original design had feathers along the neckline, but Maxima chose to remove them on both this occasion and for her previous appearances in the dress back in 2017 and 2023.Â
According to Royal Fashion Police, Maxima accessorised with a satin black Gianvito Rossi clutch bag, her Cartier watch, and very sentimental heirloom jewellery.
Her diamond bracelet was part of the former Dutch East Indies Bracelet, which was made up of 1700 diamonds and given to the then Crown Princess Juliana of the Netherlands by the people of Indonesia when she married Prince Bernhard of Lippe-Biesterfeld in 1937.

Mythical bracelet
The original featured a garuda bird, a part-human, part-eagle from Hindu and Buddhist mythology, best known as the mount of the god Vishnu and a symbol of Indonesia. It was spotted on the royal’s wrist on her wedding day, alongside her satin bridal gown.

Only smaller versions of the bracelet have been pictured on Queen Beatrix and Queen Maxima’s wrists since Queen Juliana abdicated in 1980, the Royal Watcher explained. Maxima has worn one or two of the smaller diamond bracelets on several occasions, but the mythical garuda remains unseen.
Maxima’s feathered fashion
Maxima is known for her bold fashion choices, which regularly include feathers. Case in point, she wore a green dress with a feathered hem to secondary vocational education school, Albeda, in 2024, and famously wore her mother-in-law’s gown to the Liberation Day Concert in 2014.

Back in December 2025, Oriona Robb, a luxury stylist with over two decades of experience in the fashion industry, spoke exclusively to HELLO! about how she styles maximalist looks so effortlessly.
Speaking about her satin top with a feathered flower for the Christmas Music Gala concert, the fashion expert explained: “Máxima’s top stands out because it blends high-shine satin with couture-level feather detailing, a mix that feels both regal and fashion-forward.Â
“The asymmetric draping cinches the waist without bulk, while the feathered shoulder adds sculptural drama that instantly elevates an otherwise simple evening trouser look.”
Oriona concluded: “A clean neckline, soft waves or a sleek updo keeps the overall silhouette elegant rather than fussy.”
