FORT GREENE, Brooklyn (PIX11) — A man was fatally shot just blocks from Commodore Barry Park in Brooklyn Sunday morning, according to police.

NYPD officers responded to a 911 call just before 11 a.m. for a reported shooting inside 75 Cumberland St., just off Park Avenue in the Fort Greene section of Brooklyn, officials said.

Officers arrived and found a 43-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the midsection. He was taken to a nearby hospital, where he died from his injury, according to police.

No arrests were made at the scene or soon thereafter.

The investigation is ongoing.
