VICTORIA, Texas — The next generation of softball talent was on full display Saturday morning at the Victoria Youth Sports Complex, where multiple youth games highlighted the growing passion for the sport in the community.

In an 8U matchup between two Victoria teams, Prodigy and the Hustle Queens, Prodigy set the tone early and never looked back. From the first pitch, the team showcased strong fundamentals—making consistent contact at the plate and working together defensively in a coach-pitch format.

Their effort paid off in a commanding 10–1 victory over the Hustle Queens.

Leading the way for Prodigy were Dallas Brewer and Sayra Saunders, who earned game MVP honors for their standout performances.

With energy, teamwork, and skill already shining through at such a young level, the future of softball in Victoria is looking bright.

Following the Prodigy’s 10-1 win against the Hustle Queens, we caught up the coaches to get a word from them.
