THE BRONX, N.Y. (PIX11) — A student allegedly slashed a 15-year-old boy in a Bronx high school on Monday, police said.

The teen was attacked at William H. Taft High School on East 172nd Street at around 12:50 p.m., according to the NYPD. The victim, also a student, was not seriously injured.

Officers took a male student into custody, and the charges were pending, police said. It was unclear what prompted the assault.

A spokesperson for New York City Public Schools could not immediately be reached.
