A man claiming to be a cosplayer was arrested for carrying a sword on the subway in Queens, cops said on Tuesday.
Armando Masson, 35, was on an A train stopped at the Lefferts Blvd-Liberty Ave. stop in South Richmond Hill around 6:15 p.m. Monday, when sharp-eyed officers spotted him carrying the weapon wrapped in fabric on Monday, according to law enforcement.
After police inspected the long blade, the suspect told the officers that he was a cosplayer and that the sword was a prop. He also admitted to carrying a folding knife on his belt, police said.
Masson, who lives in Astoria, was charged with criminal possession of a weapon.
