As the Empire State Building approaches its 95th anniversary on May 1, a new book is shining a light on the people who helped build one of New York City’s most iconic landmarks.

“Men at Work,” by author Glenn Kurtz, looks beyond the structure itself to tell the stories of the laborers who constructed the 1,400-foot skyscraper.

Kurtz joined “Mornings On 1” Wednesday to discuss the book and the human stories behind the landmark.
