New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani gathered alongside local doormen and building staff at a rally on Park Avenue before workers are expected vote on whether to strike for higher wages and benefits.
Workers could walk off the job as early as April 21, the day after the current four-year agreement expires. Negotiations between the union for the doormen and an advisory board to property owners haven’t produced a deal on a new contract.
