BROOKLYN, Miss. (WDAM) – Brooklyn FFA is inviting the community out for a day of hands-on fun and learning at its 2nd annual “Community Day on the Farm.”
The event is happening this Saturday, Apr. 18, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the campus of Forrest County Agricultural High School, right behind the agricultural building.
Kids ages 4 to 18 can enjoy a full lineup of activities for $10, including an egg hunt, petting zoo, hayrides and more.
There will also be local vendors and educational demonstrations for all ages to enjoy.
Organizers say it’s a great way for families to spend time together while learning more about agriculture.
“Last year, we had a really great turnout,” FCAHS agriculture teacher Kayla Walters said. “I think we just want a way to open up our school to the community and invite people to come see our unique situation here at FCAHS, since we have the school farm. And we also just want to use this opportunity to educate people about where their food comes from.”
They’re still looking for more vendors to join Saturday’s event, with the sign-up deadline this Friday. Those interested can sign up HERE.
