QUEENS, New York (WABC) — An investigation is underway after a 15-year-old boy was fatally shot at a park in Queens on Thursday.

Fire officials say they received a report of a person shot at Baisley and Merrick boulevards around 6:15 p.m.

A 15-year-old boy was taken to Jamaica Medical Center, where he later died, according to police.

No further details have been provided.

The deadly shooting comes less than 24 hours after another 15-year-old boy was killed during a separate shooting at Eisenhower Park in Nassau County on Wednesday night.

Authorities say it happened at a barbecue designed to attract members of the Bloods gang, an event which was advertised on social media.
