A man was shot to death inside a Harlem apartment building on Sunday afternoon, police reported.

Police are investigating after a man was found shot to death inside of a Harlem apartment building on Sunday afternoon.

According to police sources, officers from the 32nd Precinct rushed to 231 West 149th St. at 2:06 p.m. on April 19 after a 911 caller reported that a person had been shot. Upon arrival, officers discovered a 26-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the lower stomach in the second-floor hallway.

EMS rushed him to NYC Health and Hospitals/ Harlem, where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead. His identity has been withheld, pending proper family notification. 

While the motive remains unclear, police said the incident stemmed from a prior dispute. A suspect wearing all black fled the scene on foot. 

No arrests have been made, and the investigation remains ongoing.
